Teacher Profile
I am in charge of People at The English Farm, which includes human resources (internal communications, training and onboarding). I'm from the Chicago area, but currently live in Spain. I like cooking, upcycling and playing the guitar in my free time.
I have been teaching English in Spain since 2011. I've worked with students one-on-one as well as in large groups at academies and at charter and public schools. I've taught all different types of English classes (conversation, grammar, test prep, etc.) to people of all levels ranging from beginner to near-native speaker.
I like to give a lot of examples of the new language so students can see exactly how to use a new word or phrase naturally and correctly. I also like to focus on clear pronunciation to ensure that students can communicate without any misunderstandings.
I taught in the United States before coming to Spain. While in Spain, I helped run a private English academy.
I have a Master's degree in the field of linguistics and a certificate in translation studies (Spanish-English) from the University of Chicago. I am also TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) certified by Canterbury English. I studied history and Spanish at Marquette University.
